Hello! My name is Jennifer de Thomas, CFP, founder and owner of Birch Elliott Financial, LLC.

Birch and Elliott are family names, just that simple. When I moved my family from San Francisco to Portland, I decided to change my career path and ended up running the back office of a financial planning firm. For someone who can make a dollar out of fifteen cents, who is infinitely curious about people and has a knack for math, this was my Eureka moment. I needed to get on the other side of the desk, so I enrolled in University of Portland’s School of Business to complete their Certified Financial Planning course. I took the dreaded public test. I was on my way. Eventually, my practice grew large enough that it made the most sense to open my own firm. It didn’t just make financial sense, it also allows an independence and autonomy to practice and provide financial planning and asset management in the most impactful way possible.
